So, what is Caliasite Manor anyways? This question is better answered by telling the story of the owner, Gwendolyn.
Gwendolyn is a demigodess born of a human mother, Taryn and a God (Called a Celestial) Mioren. For most of her life, she lived with her mother, but when she was fifteen, a messenger came and told her of her heritage, and gave her a spellbook. Inside was a letter from her father:
My dearest daughter,
I thought it was time to tell you about your heritage. If you hadn't learned from your mother already, I am a god, and so you are half godess. Here is a spellbook for you to try and practice with. I hope one day you'll compete for immortality here in Ilsea.
Good luck,
Mioren.
And after that, she studied magic every day, and she was a prodigy.
By the age of twenty one, she had started making her own spells (having mastered every book her father sent her) and she was getting rather good at it.
By the age of twenty five, she was invited to compete to gain her immortality. The only requirement to gaining immortality was to make a gift for their Celestial Parent.
Since her father was the god of War and Peace, she decided to make him a new kind of soldier; one that would follow commands beautifully and cause devastation in its wake. She called it Light-Fire; a ghost made from a deviant fire spirit and the soul of a long dead general. It was her masterpiece.
During the competition, it performed beautifully. It was nimble, poweful and deadly. But it was unruly and in the worst way.
It started to destroy and devour everything in sight. It tore down the sky and made the Sky Palace crumble. It even managed to kill a Celestial.
So instead of being able to live in Ilsea with the gods, she was banished, and told to fix her problem; only given immortality so she could hunt down the terrible monster she created.
So she created Caliassite Manor to start finding a different soldier. She gave orphans a home, food and immortality in exchange for their help fighting the Light-Fire.
