"Err... H-how does it go again?" Minnie knocked her knees together and held her hands in front of her.
"It's like this," Amber said, showing her the spell motion again, "Raise your right hand, wait, you're left handed, right?"
Minnie nodded nervously.
"Ok then, your left, and grab it like you're grabbing a rope and pull down fast, to your chest. Now, as it's coming down, take your right hand and wrap it around your fist."
The little girl followed the movements as best as she could, watching Amber closely.
"Very good," praised her mentor, "You'll be able to do this move in no time. Do you remember the spell?"
"Ummmm.... Ama Deema?"
"Close... Ava Deza."
"Affa Desa?"
"Perfect! That's how you pronounce it, and that's what's so great about runes," Amber said, pointing to the spellbook in front of them, "They are always pronounced how they're read. I wish I could say the same thing about the other letters."
Minnie wasn't listening, she was going over the motions of the spell loosely, mumbling the spell under her breath.
"Ava Deza." Amber casts the spell, making a single bold of lighing flash through the air. "Now you try."
"A-affa Desa!" Minnie stuttered with her eyes pinched closed. A tangled mass of lightning flies from the air above them and onto the spell book, making it immediately burst into flames.
"Holy shit!" Amber yelled. She pulled the book up in her arms and ran out of the living room and into the kitchen. "Minnie! Put it out! You know I'm bad with water!"
Minnie, grabbing the first thing she found, snatched up a pitcher of water and dumped it all over the book and Amber, who immediately electrocuted herself.
